Contextual Analysis in Water Supply and Sanitation Sector

This contextual analysis is prepared for the purpose to provide a background to the Water Dialogues research documents in order to help the reader to understand and assess research results. Contextual analysis can also be a useful tool to develop the dialogues process and promote debate within National Working Groups. The national profile presented in the context analyses can be used as a springboard to highlight the uniqueness of Indonesia.
 
Indonesia’s experience to develop water services to the people is an important information and knowledge to be shared with the world since Indonesia’s uniqueness is encompasses the number of population, the spreading inhabitans in 17.000 islands, and its economics problems in economics since the crisis in 1997/1998 followed by serial of global economic crises started from oil crises in 2005 and 2007, and now global financial crises.
