Ultrasonic Tank Cleaning Method Uses Water as Solvent

U.S. chemical and pharmaceutical companies typically use solvents to
clean their storage tanks. Cleaning with these solvents results in the
emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the cleaning
process and from incineration or other methods of spent solvent
disposal. Higher costs of VOC and hazardous waste disposal, and
increasing raw material prices, have encouraged development of
alternate cleaning processes like ultrasonic tank cleaning technology.
This report provides the estimation of energy savings, environmental
benefits and economic savings that can be achieved by the ultrasonic
tank cleaning methods.
